Reporter speaks to German Rieder in English

This interview was really embarrassing - and is currently going through the roof on the internet! A local reporter addressed Ried's new star striker Saliou Sane in English, even though he is German and was born in Hanover. But see for yourself - in the video below.

"First goal in this championship here in Ried. How are you, how do you feel?", the reporter asked Ried's new striker after the second division duel with SV Horn (4:0) last week.

"Good, good, um, I think we played very well today. Our opponents didn't make it easy for us, but we still kept up our pressing and were rewarded with four goals," replied the 32-year-old in a very cool manner. The local reporter remained the same ...

Without realizing his mistake, he asked again, completely without the dialect of an Upper Austrian and in an effort to speak easily understandable German: "Can you also speak German, you speak very good German?"

Sane laughs and clarifies: "Yes, I'm German too." The reporter made it even worse, asking: "Also born in Germany?" Sane: "Yes, in Hanover."

Five goals in three games
Sane was signed by the Innviertel club from Würzburger Kickers on June 5 this summer, has already scored six goals in four competitive games for Rieder and was also the much-acclaimed match-winner this Friday in the 1-0 win against FAC.
