Moped rider (30) in an induced coma after accident

A 30-year-old Hungarian collided with a car on his moped in Graz on Sunday afternoon. He was put into an artificial deep sleep at the scene of the accident due to his serious injuries.

The 30-year-old was riding his moped in the Straßgang district of Graz at around 16.30 on Sunday when he crashed at a junction. He collided with the car of a 34-year-old man. He suffered serious injuries as a result.

Rescue chain worked well
The driver quickly realized the extent of the accident and alerted the emergency services. The emergency doctor, Graz fire department and rescue helicopter arrived at the scene of the accident a short time later.

Placed in an induced coma
The emergency services provided first aid, but the 30-year-old had to be put into an artificial deep sleep at the scene of the accident. The casualty is now in Graz Regional Hospital. The 34-year-old was uninjured.
