Motorcyclist literally shoots biker off the road

The Glocknerstraße near Fusch is a popular destination for motorsport enthusiasts. But bikers also like to take the fast bends there. A serious accident on Sunday shows that this combination does not always go well together.

A 45-year-old motorcyclist was probably going a little too slowly in front of him: he overtook several moped riders on a left-hand bend.

After exiting the bend, the 45-year-old wanted to get back into his lane. In doing so, he overlooked a cyclist who was riding in front of the other motorcyclists in the same lane. The 45-year-old was unable to react and collided with the 27-year-old German cyclist after exiting the bend.

Both crashed, with the cyclist sustaining serious injuries. He had to be flown to the Tauernklinikum. The motorcyclist remained uninjured.
