Cousin has warmed “Pipo” to Vienna

A quick reunion after leaving Admira.During the Philipp Hosiner era, Patrick Schmidt was already a regular at the Hohe Warte.

"Shortly after my departure from Admira became official, Mehmet Sütcü contacted me. I told my advisor that he should definitely get the transfer done."

Wanted, done. Patrick Schmidt's "extremely good feeling" was quickly confirmed. At the start of the season, Vienna's new signing scored the golden goal against Liefering. Today's home debut in League Two (10.30) sees a reunion with Admira, for whom he has played the last two seasons - a mixed bag. "I imagined it would be different, the second season was a disaster!"

It hurt twice as much because Schmidt has been associated with Südstadt since the age of twelve, "I owe Admira a lot over the nine years!"

From the bench to the starting eleven
is a thing of the past, today he wants to help make the sun shine over the Hohe Warte. He already knows it well thanks to his cousin Philipp Hosiner. "When he played for Vienna, I was at the Hohe Warte for almost every home game!"

Now he's one level lower on the pitch, moving into the starting eleven due to Peham's illness. "Pipo was my preferred player," confirms Sütcü. "Admira have declared their aim to be champions, Vienna want to get back into the mix at the top!" Good conditions for an entertaining matinee.
