Brave homeowner pursued two burglars

Residents on the second floor, burglars on the first floor: as the two homeowners in Wels (58 and 59) were listening to music, two men below them tried to break into the house, but were caught. The 59-year-old chased after the burglars, but now the police are asking for help.

The two men from Wels (58 and 59 years old) were listening to music on the second floor of their house in Wels-Lichtenegg on Monday evening when they suddenly heard a rumbling noise at around 11.15 pm. Startled by this, they ran to the ground floor where they caught two men trying to get into their house through an open window.

Lost from sight
The two burglars immediately fled and the 59-year-old took up the chase. However, he lost sight of the two men in Lindenstraße. A manhunt by several police patrols was initially unsuccessful. The police are therefore now asking for information about the two criminals.

Description of the perpetrators
Based on images from a surveillance camera - which recorded the men removing the fly screen from the window - the two perpetrators can be described as follows: The first has dark long hair that was tied into a plait. He was wearing a white T-shirt and carrying a white shoulder bag.

The second burglar has short dark hair, a beard on his chin and cheeks and was wearing a T-shirt with a Puma print. Both wanted men are about 1.80 meters tall.
