Eisenstadt has a heart for children and the environment

Lost swimming equipment that was not collected from the outdoor and indoor swimming pools in the provincial capital is now being made available to families and refugee children in need. Added value for everyone! 

The municipality of Eisenstadt has launched an initiative to help needy families with children and refugee children. Mayor Thomas Steiner handed over swimming equipment to Caritas Director Melanie Balaskovics at the outdoor pool, which had been forgotten and not collected during previous seasons.

These donations include a variety of items, including slippers, swimming wings, beach balls, towels, swimming goggles and swimwear. "This campaign shows how easy it is to make a positive difference - for the environment as well as for society," says Steiner.

The support comes at just the right time, says Balaskovics: "For many families, the equipment for their children's swimming lessons is unaffordable. Now we can bring joy to the kids and give them the opportunity to learn to swim."
