Drunk driver (61) caught again without a license

This man is obviously incorrigible! The 61-year-old with Russian roots from Steyr (Upper Austria) was caught drunk driving without a license again on Tuesday evening. He had previously tried to drive away from the police. However, he was eventually caught in Lower Austria. 

The 61-year-old, who is known to the police, did not want to stop his car for a police check at around 9.25 p.m. on Tuesday near the Danube bridge in Mauthausen. A patrol crew then took up the pursuit with their blue lights switched on and were able to stop the driver on the B 123 near Ennsdorf (Lower Austria). 

A breathalyzer test was carried out on the Steyr driver, which was clearly positive. The 61-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 1.04 per mille. However, his driver's license could not be taken from him as he has not had one for some time.

In the district of Perg alone, the man had already been reported to the relevant authorities three times since December 2022 for drink-driving (§ 5 StVO) and seven times for driving without a license (§ 1/3 FSG). He now faces hefty penalties.
