After three years: Technician unmasked as thief

The police officers in Feldkirchen have not given up. Together with the Klagenfurt municipal police command, they managed to track down the thief of a lawnmower tractor after three years.

The machine was worth more than 10,000 euros when it was stolen from the premises of a Klagenfurt company between September and August 2021. "After intensive investigations, a 39-year-old man has been traced," according to the provincial police directorate.

Thief used his loot himself
As an in-house technician, the man had access to the premises and storage areas, probably sensed his chance and stole the expensive lawnmower tractor: "He transported the tool away in a small truck and subsequently used it himself for a few weeks," the police said.

Apparently things finally got too hot for him and he sold his loot via an internet platform: "Because the vehicle has already been resold twice, the location of the tractor has not yet been traced." The 39-year-old will be charged.
