Eventing rider Ambros 33rd after cross-country ride

Equestrian athlete Harald Ambros has made a leap forward in the Olympic eventing individual competition!

After finishing 49th in the dressage on his stallion Vitorio du Montet, the Upper Austrian galloped up to 33rd place in the cross-country on Sunday. He collected 6.8 penalty points and now has 43.3 penalty points.

He is 4.8 points off 25th place. Ambros will have to make up these points in the show jumping on Monday (11 a.m.) in order to make it into the final.

The top 25 will go into a second round on Monday (3 p.m.) and fight for the medals there. Germany's Michael Jung took the lead with 17.8 faults.
