Huge luck for an alpine pasture and its guests in Salzburg! A rockslide in Neukirchen am Großvenediger narrowly missed the Stockeralm. The building and the guests remained unharmed. 

On Wednesday evening, a huge rockslide occurred in the Untersulzbachtal valley in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. The debris narrowly missed the Stockeralm. The refuge and its visitors remained unharmed. The Neukirchen fire department reported that the hut and guests were only "dusted".

"There was a crash and then the dust came down anyway", reported Gotthard Kaiser, the hut owner, about the dramatic moments. However, he is already in good spirits again in conversation with the "Krone":

"Today everything is white from the dust. But I'll blow it away and then it will look great again. The rock is all up by the cliff. Everything went well."

Cause unclear
The fire department was alerted by the mayor after the head of the village received a call about the rockslide. Nothing was initially known about the cause of the rockfall.
