Russia bans soldiers in Ukraine from using cell phones

Smartphone ban on the front line: according to the Russian parliament, soldiers who use cell phones with a tracking function in combat zones are to be imprisoned for up to ten days.

This was reported by the Russian news agency TASS. In future, the use of cell phones is to be classified as a serious disciplinary offense.

Last year, almost 100 soldiers were killed in the Russian-controlled Donetsk region when the Ukrainian military succeeded in locating their accommodation in a vocational school using their cell phone data and bombing it.
