Seven injured in a serious collision in Tyrol

A serious traffic accident in the Tyrolean lowlands early on Sunday evening: two cars collided at an intersection in Langkampfen in the district of Kufstein. No fewer than seven occupants had to be taken to hospital with injuries.

The fatal accident happened shortly after 6 pm. A 17-year-old local man was driving his car on Langkampfener Straße (L212) coming from Kufstein in the direction of Kirchbichl. On board were two young men and two young women aged between 16 and 20.

"At the intersection with the Mitterweg municipal road in Langkampfen, there was a side collision with a car coming from the north, which was being driven by a 30-year-old German," reported the police. A 29-year-old woman was sitting in the passenger seat of this car.

All occupants injured and taken to hospital
The violent collision caused both vehicles to spin on their own axis before coming to a standstill in the middle of the L212. "All seven occupants suffered injuries of varying degrees", the investigators continued. They were all taken to the district hospital in Kufstein.

Local detour set up
Both cars sustained considerable material damage. Langkampfener Straße was closed to all traffic in the area of the accident until 8.30 p.m. and a local detour was set up.
