Car overturned after accident on highway

The Carinthian rescue services were already in action on Sunday morning. A Polish car had skidded on the A2 before the Donnersberg tunnel.

The accident is said to have happened at around 7.30 a.m. - on the southern highway between St. Andrä and Griffen before the Donnersberg tunnel, a car with Polish license plates first skidded and then overturned for reasons that are still unclear.

Both occupants were apparently injured in the accident - the ÖAMTC Christophorus 11 rescue helicopter was therefore also deployed. The tunnel was closed for the duration of the rescue and subsequent recovery, but traffic is now flowing normally again.
