Tractor overtaken by oncoming traffic: driver injured

Both drivers tried to brake and swerve out of the way, but a collision occurred.

On Monday afternoon, a 22-year-old man was driving his car towards Gallizien on the Grafensteiner Landesstraße and wanted to overtake a tractor and trailer. However, when he was level with the agricultural vehicle, the car of a 19-year-old woman came towards him.

Both drivers tried to brake and swerve out of the way, but were unable to do so. The 22-year-old was injured in the collision and had to be taken to Klagenfurt Hospital. 

Both cars sustained considerable damage. The country road was closed for a good hour after the accident.
