Drug deal failed: Man threatened with machete!

No weapons zone? Two men were not deterred by this on Sunday in front of Innsbruck's main railway station. After a failed drug deal, one of them pulled out a machete and threatened a Syrian man (25) with it. The suspects were arrested.

Südtiroler Platz in front of Innsbruck main station has been part of a weapons ban zone for years. Not everyone abides by it, as a particularly blatant case showed on Sunday morning. A dangerous threat was made after a failed drug deal!

"Two stateless men aged 22 and 34 threatened a 25-year-old Syrian man, with the 22-year-old pulling out a machete he was carrying to intimidate the Syrian," reported the police.

Suspects arrested
The suspects were then provisionally arrested by a patrol from the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG) and officers from the station police station. 

Machete, coke and knife seized
The machete, a wallpapering knife and half a gram of cocaine were seized. Once the investigations have been completed, charges will be laid at large.
