Stolen Cadillac tracked down in Vorarlberg

A Cadillac Escalade was reported stolen in Switzerland on Friday. Officers in Vorarlberg were then able to find the car - it had just been driven towards Arlberg by a drunk driver. 

Successful cooperation between Swiss and Vorarlberg police officers: on Friday evening, a Cadillac Escalade was reported stolen in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Vorarlberg colleagues were asked to help with the manhunt, which they did.

At 10.50 p.m., a patrol from the Bludenz highway patrol noticed the Cadillac - it was on the L197 and was being driven in the direction of the Arlberg Pass. The officers stopped the car at the Stuben am Arlberg checkpoint.  

The driver, a 50-year-old man with an unstable residence, was provisionally arrested and the vehicle was seized. The driver tested positive for alcohol and his driver's license was confiscated on the spot. The State Office of Criminal Investigation then took over the further investigation.
