Drunk man (22) invented attack by group

An "unexplained fall incident" has kept the Tyrolean police in Kufstein busy since mid-May. A German (22), who was very drunk, had claimed that he had been attacked by several men and pushed over a bridge railing. Apparently it was all made up. 

The man had originally claimed to have been attacked in the evening by a group of around five men and pushed over the railing of the Inn bridge. He then fell into the embankment, which dropped around seven meters. The man was admitted to hospital after the fall.

In the meantime, the police were looking for young men of southern descent as suspects. The State Office of Criminal Investigation was also involved in the evaluation of evidence and questioning, the police announced on Friday. After extensive investigations, the 22-year-old admitted that he had fallen over the railing himself. He was reported to the police on suspicion of faking an offense punishable by law.
