Cutting tool caught a farmer’s leg

A 66-year-old man suffered two deep cuts when his leg was caught by a bar mower while working in a meadow in Schetteregg on Monday morning. The man had previously tried to get the cutting tool free.  

While the 66-year-old was working with the motorized mower on a meadow in Schetteregg, a piece of grass or moss suddenly became entangled in the bar mower. However, the farmer kept the machine running. He fixed the clutch on the left bar of the mower and tried to free the cutting tool from the grass.

Injury to the calf
Suddenly the clutch came loose and the mower started to move. The man's left leg was caught by the cutting tool. The farmer suffered two deep cuts to his calf. After first aid by Egg Rescue, he was flown to Dornbirn City Hospital by the "Christophorus 8" emergency helicopter.
