That too! After the German national team's dramatic exit in the quarter-finals of the European Championship, Spanish media are slagging off national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

He is "a bad loser", writes the daily newspaper "Marca". From the media's point of view, Nagelsmann took too long to congratulate Spain on their victory. There is also anger on the Iberian peninsula about the DFB coach's statement on the thrilling extra time. Nagelsmann said after the game that "with the exception of the first five minutes of the second half, it was almost only us who really wanted to win".

"He can't lose"
"OK Diario" also headlined: "Nagelsmann can't lose." Harsh words in the direction of the German team boss, who complained about referee Anthony Taylor's officiating after the game. The referee had not awarded a penalty for Germany after a handball by Spain's Marc Cucurella in the penalty area.

Dream of home title shattered
In the end, the DFB team was beaten 2:1 by Spain after extra time on Friday evening. The home EURO was thus over in the quarter-finals. Nevertheless, after disappointing performances at the 2018 World Cup, 2021 European Championship and 2022 World Cup, the Germans were once again able to impress with good performances.
