The Ukrainian Yaroslava Mahuchich has set a world record in the high jump at the Diamond League meeting in Paris at the Charlety Stadium. 

At 2.10 m, she improved Stefka Kostadinova's 37-year-old record by one centimeter (August 30, 1987 Rome). Nicola Olyslagers from Australia came second with 2.01. The athletics competitions at the Olympic Games will take place in the Stade de France St. Denis.

The previous top performance of the 22-year-old world and European champion Mahutschich was 2.06 m. "I have finally written Ukraine into athletics history," she said. "When I went into the competition, I had the feeling that I could jump 2.07 m or maybe even 2.10 m."
