Simplifications for balcony & terrace power plants

The installation of balcony and terrace power plants in private homes is to be made easier from September 1. A corresponding resolution will be passed tomorrow, Friday, in the National Council.

This was announced by the Climate Ministry on Thursday. The new regulation stipulates that the consent of other homeowners is deemed to have been given if the planned installation has been announced and no one has responded within two months.

If another condominium owner objects, a valid reason such as safety concerns must also be given in future.

Previously, the consent of all apartment owners was required for the installation of a PV system on a balcony or terrace. Climate Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) sees the new regulation as an "additional boost" for the energy transition.
