Brutal shock after the "Krone" report on the collapse of the partnership between ASK Klagenfurt and Austria Klagenfurt: ASK is withdrawing from the Regionalliga Mitte. This is how it should continue now:

ASK in shock! After the cooperation with Bundesliga club Austria Klagenfurt - as reported by the "Krone" - has collapsed, nerves are on edge. Yesterday, ASK announced to the Carinthian Football Association that they will definitely not be participating in the Regionalliga Mitte next season for financial reasons.

Not a competitive team 
"Everything is in question for us. We may not even be able to play in the Carinthian league," says sporting director "Motte" Dollinger. "We currently only have five or six players. It's hardly possible to put together a competitive team anymore."

WAC amateurs want to go up
According to the statutes, the place in the Regionalliga MItte can - if ASK withdraws - be taken over by the best-placed relegated team. That would be the WAC Amateurs, who - according to reports from Wolfsberg - are also aiming to do so.

Going to the 2nd class?
ASK had an internal meeting yesterday, where there was even talk of a move into the 2nd division - possibly with a joint venture with HSV.
