Quota place confirmed! Knoll at the Olympics in Paris

Late, but nevertheless, the World Swimming Federation has confirmed the Olympic quota place for water jumper Anton Knoll!

As the Austrian Swimming Federation (OSV) announced on Thursday, World Aquatics gave the green light for the 19-year-old Viennese to take part after around four months. "This long wait was really nerve-wracking for me," said Knoll, who should have been confirmed on March 3 after finishing 17th at the February World Championships in Doha.

"This waiting period has really cost me a lot of nerves," explained Knoll, who recently jumped to gold in the synchronized diving alongside Dariush Lotfi at the European Championships. "I had to take myself back again and again and sometimes doubted whether I would really be allowed to compete in Paris or not. Now the joy is all the greater."

Including Knoll, the OSV now has a ten-strong Paris delegation, which it will submit to the ÖOC for nomination. In addition to Knoll and the synchronized divers Anna-Maria and Eirini Alexandri in the duet, these are Felix Auböck (200 m, 400 m, 800 m crawl, open water), Martin Espernberger (200 m dolphin), Simon Bucher (100 m dolphin, 4 x 100 m medley), Bernhard Reitshammer, Valentin Bayer, Heiko Gigler (4 x 100 m medley each) and Jan Hercog (open water).
