What is Austrian cultural heritage for you?

Austrian culture is a diverse conglomerate of traditions, art and history that defines our identity. However, there are also some not entirely uncontroversial customs that make the headlines from time to time and provide material for discussion among readers.

At the moment, a "custom" is once again the subject of heated debate in the forums: For a friend's 30th birthday, a "pig's skull" was nailed to a wooden post in front of his house. Animal rights activists immediately got involved and the incident made it into the media.
