Biker (31) crashed: van drove away

There are some question marks behind a traffic accident on Monday morning in Zirl (Innsbruck-Land district)! A motorcyclist (31) crashed and was injured. A witness claims to have seen a white van drive away from the scene of the accident. The police are now looking for the driver of the car.

The accident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on Tirolerstraße in Zirl. A 31-year-old local man crashed his motorcycle there and suffered serious injuries. His motorcycle was thrown into the oncoming lane and crashed into a guardrail before coming to a standstill after 50 meters with considerable bodywork damage.

Witness noticed white van
"A witness who heard the accident saw a white van immediately in front of it and heard a squeaking noise a short time later," said the police. When the witness went in the direction of the noise, he finally found the injured biker and set the rescue chain in motion.

The Zirl police are now looking for witnesses to the accident or the driver of the white van.
