Empress Sisi’s great-great-great-granddaughter got married

Vorarlberg was the venue for an aristocratic wedding on Saturday. Countess Leonie von Waldburg-Zeil-Hohenems and her Count Caspar Matuschka, an IT specialist from Switzerland, tied the knot at Hohenems Castle in front of numerous celebrities. Incidentally, the bride is the great-great-great-granddaughter of Empress Sisi.

Her spirit also hovered a little over the ceremony, as the empress once spent a lot of time at Hohenems Castle. A few of Empress Elisabeth's fans and gloves are still on display there.

Members of the European aristocracy were also among the guests - including Queen Maxima, King Willem-Alexander and Crown Princess Amalia from the Netherlands.

Hereditary Princess Sophie Elizabeth Marie Gabrielle von und zu Liechtenstein and daughter Princess Marie Caroline also joined in the celebrations.

Gun salute and soap bubbles
The 26-year-old bride was led to the altar by her father Franz Clemens Count von Waldburg-Zeil (64). An hour and a half later, the newlyweds emerged from the parish church of St. Charles Borromeo, beaming with joy as they presented themselves to over 500 guests to salutes and a sea of soap bubbles.
