VP boycotts conference: “Don’t care about Gewessler!”

Five ÖVP energy councillors from Carinthia do not take part in meeting with Minister Gewessler. They have lost confidence. 

"Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler has already shown several times in the past that she doesn't care about the interests of the provinces. Minister Gewessler's unconstitutional and unlawful approval of the EU renaturation law, despite a unified rejection by the federal provinces, is now the straw that broke the camel's back," said the Energy Ministers Markus Achleitner, Upper Austria, Stephan Pernkopf, Lower Austria, Josef Geisler, Tyrol, Josef Schwaiger, Salzburg, and Sebastian Schuschnig, Carinthia, explaining their rejection.

ÖVP cites several reasons
This means that the necessary basis of trust for the political energy experts' meeting on Friday no longer exists: The black provincial councillors cite several reasons. The stop of important road construction projects in the federal provinces ordered by them, as well as the resolution of the Austrian land strategy, which was developed by the Austrian Spatial Planning Conference. The Federal Minister should not have agreed to the EU renaturation law.
