Where to go when the bladder pinches? Toilet problem at Lake Wörthersee

The fact that there are too few public toilets in the Wörthersee community of Velden is a source of great annoyance for the many visitors.

Especially in the summer season, the Wörthersee community is teeming with visitors - bus stops, the Marietta parking lot and the children's playground in the Kurpark, which was built in 2016, also ensure additional frequency! However, the fact that there are only two public toilets in Velden regularly causes a lack of understanding.

When the bladder pinches, people have to switch to nearby restaurants. "There has been an urgent need for action here for years. Because it's the restaurants that have to make do, and that's not sustainable," says Hannes Markowitz from Velden Tourismus. Mayor Ferdinand Vouk is also aware of the issue.

"Yes, the toilet facilities are a shortcoming, the public toilets in the municipal office seem to be too far away!" During Advent, container facilities are used to make up for this, and larger toilet facilities are also planned for the new community center. Until then, however, visitors will have to be patient - and have a good bladder.
