Roof truss in flames: House in Tyrol evacuated

Fire alarm on Tuesday evening in Pfunds in the Tyrolean district of Landeck: the roof truss of a residential building was on fire. A neighbor noticed the fire and made an emergency call. The building was evacuated. The residents stayed with relatives for the time being.

The roof truss of the house suddenly caught fire in the evening. At around 9.15 p.m., a neighbor noticed the fire and immediately raised the alarm. "Other neighbors began initial measures to fight the fire and the rapid intervention of the fire department prevented the flames from spreading to neighboring buildings," said the police.

The residents of the apartment building were evacuated in good time and temporarily accommodated with relatives. 

Fire watch overnight
The emergency services were able to bring the situation under control quickly. The "fire out" signal was given as early as 10 pm. A fire watch was set up. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still unclear. The police have started an investigation.
