Driver knocks over girl (12), then drives off

The police in the district of Ried im Innnkreis are looking for an unknown driver who is said to have behaved in an incomprehensibly reckless manner during an accident in Ostermiething. The man had knocked over a 12-year-old cyclist with his car. When the girl explained to him that she had been injured, the stranger did not help but simply made off. 

A 12-year-old girl from Ostermiething was riding her bike on the daily route to Ostermiething Middle School at around 06:40 on Tuesday when a white car suddenly reversed out of the parking lot in front of the kindergarten on Schulstraße in her home town.

Cyclist overlooked
As the pupil saw this in time, she stopped immediately. When she noticed that the car was still reversing, she immediately tried to avoid it by pushing her bike back.

However, the car was faster and knocked the girl and her bike over. The schoolgirl suffered injuries to her thigh.

Informed about injury
The driver of the car then looked out of the window and asked the child if she was injured. However, shortly after the child said yes, the unknown driver simply drove off.

The getaway vehicle is said to be a white car with a male driver aged between 30 and 50. The Ostermiething police department is asking for information by calling 059-133-4211.
