Accident in Going

“Hoftrac” rammed into pensioner with rollator

The collision between a "Hoftrac" and a pensioner on Monday had serious consequences. The driver of the machine must have overlooked the 83-year-old.

The 49-year-old employee of the hotel in Going was using the self-propelled work machine ("Hoftrac") to transport several parasols to the hotel terrace at around 12.20 pm.

Umbrellas transported on the shovel
With the umbrellas in the front bucket, he drove into the parking lot and intended to turn off after a hedge. Immediately after making the turn, he overlooked three female pedestrians coming towards him.

Two other women were able to take evasive action
He collided head-on with the shovel of the work machine with the rollator of an 83-year-old German woman. The woman fell backwards and suffered a serious head injury. She was taken to St. Johann Hospital after first aid by the ambulance. The two other walkers were able to get to safety and were not injured.
