70 households without electricity due to fire

A farmhouse in Waizenkirchen burned to the ground on Monday night. As a result, a medium-voltage line apparently had to be switched off, leaving around 70 households without power. It was not the only fire department operation during the night.

At around 10 p.m. on Sunday evening, twelve fire departments were alerted to Waizenkirchen: A farmhouse was on fire. Fortunately, the building was probably empty, at least nobody was injured in the fire.

Electricity switched off
The fire - the cause of which is still unclear - also affected around 70 households in Waizenkirchen and Prambachkirchen. The medium-voltage line including the transformer station next to the destroyed farmhouse apparently had to be switched off, which is why the 70 or so customer installations had to make do without electricity.

Two injured in arbor fire
It was not the only night-time fire in Upper Austria. In Andorf, four fire departments were called out at the same time because a gazebo had caught fire. The ambulance had to transport two people to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
