Waste container went up in flames in the hall

Dangerous scenes unfolded in the waste hall of the Stadtgalerien Schwaz on Friday afternoon: A residual waste container was on fire. The fact that nothing worse happened is probably thanks to a technician and a janitor who reacted with lightning speed. 

It was shortly after 4.30 p.m. when the burning residual waste container in the waste hall of the Stadtgalerien triggered the alarm, causing an on-call technician to rush to the scene. He informed a janitor and together the two men managed to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher and water before the fire department arrived, despite the heavy smoke in the hall. 

No injuries, cause of fire unclear
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident and the fire did not cause any damage to the building. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. 

The Schwaz fire department was deployed with 25 firefighters and the Tyrolit company fire department with ten firefighters.
