Crash landing: pilot narrowly missed the road

A 30-year-old paraglider was injured in a crash landing with her paraglider in the Tyrolean Außerfern region on Friday morning. She was only just able to avoid touching down on the main road. 

The 30-year-old German woman had gone paragliding with a group of colleagues to Tannheim. At around 10.45 a.m., she began her landing approach over the Neunerköpfl landing site. However, she and her glider were caught by air masses and drifted in the direction of the B199 Tannheimer Straße. 

Injured and flown to hospital
The pilot still managed to cross the main road. However, she then crashed into a wooden guard rail and crashed into a field. After first aid, the injured woman was flown to the hospital in Kempten in Bavaria.
