On Wednesday, police officers stopped a truck driver on the A1 in the Amstetten district who had attracted attention due to his "unsafe driving style". A breathalyzer test was positive: over 2.4 per mille!

On Wednesday afternoon, highway police officers stopped a truck on the A1 in the municipality of Oed in the Amstetten district that had attracted attention due to its "unsafe driving style". In addition, the vehicle with Ukrainian license plates was in a rather desolate condition, the provincial police department reported in a press release on Thursday.

The 33-year-old initially braked hard and tried to avoid being stopped at the Oed exit. Finally, the officers directed him to the Haag traffic checkpoint. A breathalyzer test on the 33-year-old Romanian showed a positive result - over 2.4 per mille. His driver's license was temporarily confiscated.

The experts also found a defect with imminent danger in the brake system and the driver was prohibited from continuing his journey. A security deposit was collected. The defect was rectified on the spot. The owner of the license and the driver will be reported to the competent administrative authority.
