A festive celebration for farmers

On June 8, the traditional Farmers' Day was celebrated again at the Wieselburg "Land und Forst" trade fair after a five-year break. Alexander Bernhuber, who received almost 45,000 preferential votes nationwide in the last EU elections and was therefore also ranked second on the ÖVP's national list, was also there

Alexander Bernhuber, top candidate of the Farmers' Union, achieved an impressive success in the EU elections and will continue to represent the interests of Lower Austrian farmers in the EU Parliament for the next five years. He was particularly convincing in rural areas and in Lower Austria, where he received 32,658 preferential votes.

Success for farmers in Lower Austria
The young farmer from the Mostviertel region expressed his determination to continue fighting for the concerns of farming families and rural areas.

Farmers' Association President Georg Strasser and Director David Süß emphasized that Bernhuber's commitment and strong representation in Brussels had paid off. "Personal discussions and direct exchanges are the key to success," Bernhuber continued. His success is proof that the hard work of the Farmers' Union has been recognized.

Turning the People's Party into a successful party
The keynote speaker was Stephan Pernkopf, Deputy Governor of the Farmers' Union, who made a clear commitment to performance, property and freedom in his speech: "It seems to me that some people are afraid of economic production. That is nothing other than fear of the future. We need more economy and less paper economy. We need progress through technology instead of relegation through ideology and more faith in the future!" And further: "Our country is not the land of whiners and complainers. Let's make our country the country of the brightest and best! Let's not talk about what we are against, but what we stand for: for performance & property, for family & security, for diligence & decency. Then the People's Party will become a successful party again!"

Farmers' Union sets impressive final point

The Farmers' Union has made remarkable efforts in this election campaign. Around 100 events were successfully held in all districts of Lower Austria. Over 1,000 banners were hung throughout Lower Austria, at least one in every municipality. The largest election advertising campaign was worked into the farmland in a field near Vienna-Schwechat Airport. Numerous other campaigns were carried out by members, supporters and farming families throughout the state to make the Farmers' Union's election campaign an impressive success.

Lower Austrian Farmers' Union Director Paul Nemecek backs up the success with facts: "We organized the biggest event and put the biggest election campaign on the ground. At the same time, with over 500,000 home visits throughout Austria for Alexander Bernhuber, we were closer than ever to the citizens. We are the only political organization that goes from house to house, seeks direct contact and listens. However, this does not mean that we underestimate the digital space. During the intensive campaign period from March onwards, we were able to reach 9 million views across Austria on the profiles of Alexander Bernhuber and the Farmers' Union, with a focus on agriculture and rural areas."
