Man falls down a shaft: seriously injured in the head

A local man (56) had to be taken to hospital on Monday. The man had fallen into a shaft on a construction site in Axams. He sustained serious head injuries.

The accident happened at around 12 noon. The 56-year-old was working on a construction site in Axams. According to the investigators, the man "fell backwards into a shaft around one meter deep".

Work colleagues raised the alarm
He hit his head on the edge of the shaft. The worker sustained injuries of indeterminate severity in the accident. His work colleagues set the rescue chain in motion. The 56-year-old was taken to Innsbruck Hospital by the ambulance service.
