This is the new club of relegation hero Stöger

A new adventure for ÖFB legionnaire Kevin Stöger: the 30-year-old midfielder is moving within the German Bundesliga from Bochum to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

"I'm looking forward to getting to know the team and the coaching team personally. I want to get the maximum out of it, I'm extremely hungry and I'm keen to have a successful time here together," Stöger was quoted as saying in a statement from the "Foals".

Stöger is leaving Bochum on a free transfer and has now signed a contract in Mönchengladbach until 2027. Last year, the 30-year-old was the "life insurance" of Bochum, who kept themselves in the league after a tour de force via the relegation play-offs.

In 35 competitive matches, the native of Upper Austria scored eight goals and contributed 14 assists, making him the club's undisputed top scorer. In the relegation second leg against Fortuna Düsseldorf, Stöger shone with a goal and two assists, then also scored in the decisive penalty shoot-out.

"Kevin is a seasoned Bundesliga player and has developed into a real leader in his last few appearances," Gladbach's sports boss Roland Virkus is quoted as saying in the press release.
