Serious accident in Kirchdorf in the Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel on Monday! A Dutch driver (59) reduced his speed because of a 60 km/h zone. As a result, a Hungarian driver (30) following behind rear-ended the vehicle. The 30-year-old was "heavily intoxicated". 

The accident occurred shortly before 5 pm. The 59-year-old Dutchman was driving his car on the B178 in the direction of St. Johann. A 52-year-old Dutch woman was in the passenger seat. Directly behind the car, the 30-year-old Hungarian was driving his car in the same direction. A 35-year-old compatriot was in the car with him.

The 59-year-old braked due to the onset of a zone in which only 60 km/h is permitted. 

Both vehicles became wedged into each other and were severely damaged.

The 30-year-old apparently noticed the braking maneuver too late, resulting in a rear-end collision. "Both vehicles became wedged into each other and were severely damaged," said the police. All four occupants sustained injuries of indeterminate severity in the crash.

"A breathalyzer test carried out on the Hungarian driver revealed that he was heavily intoxicated." The Hungarian's "license" was taken away immediately.
