Female driver (17) skidded off a wet road

Emergency services were called out in Birkfeld: on Sunday afternoon, a 17-year-old left the road in her car and injured herself.

At around 4.30 p.m., the 17-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district was driving her car on the local road coming from Sallegg in the direction of St. Georgen. In a left-hand bend, she probably left the wet road and was thrown against an embankment. She was able to call the emergency services herself, but was unable to free herself from the vehicle.

Rescue helicopter in action
The Koglhof and Birkfeld volunteer fire departments carried out the rescue from the vehicle. After first aid, the 17-year-old was flown to Oberwart Regional Hospital by the Christophorus 16 rescue helicopter. There she was diagnosed with minor injuries.
