At around 6.45 p.m., a small fire broke out in the kitchen area of a care facility in Schwaz. "A plastic chopping board placed on the ceramic hob started to burn unnoticed, which triggered the fire alarm system," reported the police.

Floor evacuated, no injuries
The fire was extinguished before the fire department arrived. "The affected floor was evacuated and the emergency services ventilated the affected and smoky area," said the investigators. No further extinguishing work was necessary.

Fortunately, no one was injured. A police patrol and the Schwaz volunteer fire department were on duty.
