Innsbruck Airport: Frankfurt back on the flight schedule

Good news for Innsbruck Airport: from the 2024/25 winter season, the important Frankfurt hub will once again be served directly from the Tyrolean capital. The Frankfurt route was temporarily canceled at the start of the summer flight schedule in April.

"From October 27, 2024, Air Dolomiti will operate the Innsbruck - Frankfurt route with up to two daily flights on behalf of Lufthansa German Airlines. The flights have already been updated in the LH systems," the airport said in a press release on Tuesday.

Route canceled in the summer flight schedule
"Unscheduled aircraft capacity bottlenecks within the Lufthansa Group" had led to the temporary suspension of the flight connection at the end of March. "Although these aircraft bottlenecks continue, Innsbruck Airport has succeeded in bringing the Frankfurt route back to Innsbruck for the time being for the 2024/2025 winter season," it continued.

"Constructive and intensive exchange"
The airport managers are naturally delighted. Airport Managing Director Marco Pernetta speaks of an "excellent basis for discussion and cooperation" with the German Lufthansa: "There has been a very constructive and intensive exchange at eye level in recent months. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer our passengers a connection to Frankfurt again."

Pernetta hopes that the flights to Frankfurt will continue beyond the winter: "After all, international accessibility is an important location factor for Tirol."
