Bus against streetcar: accident in early morning traffic in Graz

A bus collided with a streetcar on line 3 on Theodor-Körner-Straße in Graz on Monday morning. The road had to be closed to traffic for around two hours. The Red Cross has now confirmed nine injuries, including four schoolchildren.

Accident in early morning traffic in Graz: At around 7 a.m., a streetcar on line 3 heading towards Andritz and a bus on line 41 collided at the Seniorenzentrum.

According to Holding Graz, the bus probably turned right and collided with the oncoming streetcar. The streetcar was able to move after the accident and was able to drive back a short distance. The bus will probably have to be towed away this morning due to a broken axle.

Streetcar driver also injured
Holding Graz has provided replacement buses between Jakominiplatz and Andritz. The streetcar runs normally between Krenngasse and Jakominiplatz, but with delays.

According to the Red Cross, a total of nine people were injured in the accident, including four schoolchildren. One person suffered injuries of indeterminate severity. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the Bim was also taken away injured by the ambulance. The injured persons were taken to the LKH-Univ. Klinikum and the UKH Graz.
