Offering boxes emptied 24 times, but loot modest

Since 2018, a thief has repeatedly raided places of worship in the Lienz valley floor in East Tyrol and emptied offering boxes. The perpetrator has now been tracked down. However, he didn't get much. 

A lot of effort for little gain, you could say. A 52-year-old man, who has now been tracked down by the police in East Tyrol, put in the effort. The man is accused of emptying the offering boxes in three parish churches a total of 24 times since 2018.

Suspect confessed to the crimes
According to investigators, the suspect also admitted to the crimes during questioning. However, the amount of the loot was relatively modest. The police are talking about a mid three-digit euro amount, i.e. around 500 euros. The accused will be charged.
