How the GAK fans are celebrating today

GAK has reached its goal and is back in the Bundesliga!(Bild: GEPA)

The GAK fans were already in a great mood in the city center of Graz at noon. They also celebrated their "championship party" in the stadium. After the game, the Reds' supporters are set to party some more. Pictures and videos of the Reds' celebrations.

The first fans arrived at Freiheitsplatz at around 12 noon on Saturday, from where a fan march started in the afternoon to the Merkur Arena for the last home game of the season against Kapfenberg.

According to advance booking figures, a new record for the Second Division was set with over 8300 spectators. In any case, there was a great atmosphere around the stadium, where the "Meistertour" bibs were omnipresent.

Prior to kick-off, the fan curve performed a choreo to the anthem of the legendary wrestler "Undertaker" to symbolically bury their GAK's membership of the second division.

After the 4:2 victory against Kapfenberg in the last game, all the fans on the pitch broke. The championship honors and awards for the best player, best coach and best goalie of the season were accompanied by numerous beer showers. There was not a dry eye in the house - or in the Reds.

The fans will return to the city center for a championship party on Freiheitsplatz - a warm-up for the championship celebration on Wednesday in Weinzödl.

The GAK was able to secure promotion and thus a return to the Bundesliga after a 17-year absence three weeks ago. Since then, the fans haven't really stopped celebrating...
