Accident in recycling yard: Pensioner struggles with death

A pensioner (78) lay with life-threatening injuries next to a bulky waste container in a recycling yard in Stans, Tyrol, on Tuesday afternoon. The police suspect an accident.

There are still some unanswered questions. It is clear that the 78-year-old went to the recycling center in Stans shortly after 4 pm and wanted to dispose of waste in the bulky waste container. He used the metal stairs provided for this purpose.

Fell down the stairs
A short time later, a 57-year-old found the pensioner lying motionless at the foot of the stairs. The police suspect that the 78-year-old fell down the stairs and suffered life-threatening injuries. After first aid, the accident victim was taken to the hospital in Innsbruck.
