One person has died in severe turbulence on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore. According to media reports, at least 30 others were injured. The plane had to make an emergency landing in Thailand.

At least one passenger has died on flight SQ321 from London to Singapore. This was reported by local media in Thailand on Tuesday.

Apparently triggered by a tropical storm
The Boeing 777-300ER left London on Monday evening at 10.17 p.m. local time. The aircraft then apparently got caught in tropical thunderstorms, which caused severe turbulence.

Plane suddenly plummeted 2000 meters
Data from the Flightradar platform suggests that the plane suddenly descended 6,000 feet, almost two kilometers, over the west coast of Myanmar. The rainy season has begun in the region. Severe storms have recently occurred in some areas. There was initially no official confirmation of this information.

For this reason, the plane was diverted to Bangkok, where it had to make an emergency landing shortly before 4 pm local time - instead of arriving in Singapore at 6.10 pm. Ambulances arrived on the runway and attended to the injured.
