Stable work can be life-threatening - as was once again demonstrated on a farm in Unterweißenbach in Upper Austria. A 150 kilogram calf ran over the farmer's wife (48). She hit the back of her head on the concrete floor and was briefly unconscious. The woman was taken to hospital. 

At 3 p.m. on Monday, a 48-year-old woman from Unterweißenbach (Freistadt district) was injured on the back of her head when she and her 53-year-old husband tried to drive the calves out of the barn into the open. During this process, a calf weighing around 150 kilos apparently managed to escape through the feed fence in the barn.

During the subsequent attempt to catch the calf together, the 48-year-old woman was run over, causing her to fall and hit the back of her head on the concrete floor of the barn, where she may have been unconscious for a short time. Her husband rushed to her aid and their daughter called the emergency services. After first aid, she was taken to hospital.
