Hiker fell into the depths at Grüner See lake

On Monday morning, a female hiker fell six meters into the depths of the Grüner See lake in Styria and came to rest seriously injured on the shore of the lake. The mountain rescue team rushed to the scene and she had to be rescued with a rope and rescue helicopter.

These are scenes that many hikers fear: On the morning of Whit Monday, a female hiker fell while walking around the Styrian Green Lake and slid six meters into the depths. She was thrown over rocky, impassable terrain before coming to rest on the shore of the lake.

Relatives immediately alerted the rescue services - the woman had been seriously injured in the fall. A short time later, twelve members of the Tragöß mountain rescue team arrived at the scene of the accident and were able to provide first aid. The Christophorus rescue helicopter was called in to rescue the injured woman with a rope and fly her to Kalwang University Hospital.
