Cyclist caused skater to fall and drove off

Not only were there numerous motorcycle accidents on Whit Monday, a 23-year-old skateboarder also crashed heavily in Graz after a cyclist allegedly cut him off. The cyclist committed a hit-and-run and the police are now looking for him.

On Monday morning at around 9 a.m., a 23-year-old Viennese man was riding his longboard - a long version of a skateboard - on the sidewalk of Straßgangerstraße heading south. 

Opposite the "Knusperhäuschen" restaurant, the skater said he was overtaken and cut off by a cyclist. The young man fell and had to be taken to hospital with a serious shoulder injury. 

The cyclist simply drove on without stopping and left the injured skater lying there. The police are now looking for the person who allegedly caused the accident.
